Bunny! Over the past few months, I’ve really been pushing myself to make things I’ve never made before – especially in the 3D format. So I thought I would continue down this path by making this bunny. I initially used the pinch pot method and built up his body with small slab pieces and then did lots of carving.
I’m overall really happy with the results, although I do like one side of him more than the other. The least preferred side collapsed a bit while I was carving and it was too late (the clay was too dry) to add clay. My favorite parts are his ears and little butt. I wanted to keep the glazing simple, so I just did black underglaze and used a celadon new to me – smoke. I think the color is more vibrant in the sun, so he may live on the screen porch. <3
The original inspiration for my bunny – a friend we saw in the yard last fall. My husband named him Terry.
