Intermediate Stained Glass Workshop

  • Intermediate Stained Glass Workshop

After taking two beginner classes (and one intermediate years ago), I was able to take an intermediate stained glass workshop this week. Even though it had been quite some time since the previous classes, I was glad things were coming back to me as I worked. Stained glass involves A LOT of steps and it can be overwhelming. This course took place over two days, which really helped me not get anxious. I tend to be a slower artist/maker, and I can get overwhelmed and frazzled if I feel behind – the length of the classes helped prevent those feelings.

Since this was an intermediate course, we also got to create a larger design. I picked one of the instructor’s abstract patterns. I am generally a blue and green girl, but decided to go with green and pink, with a little bit of yellow. We also were able to add a patina to the piece as a final step – I chose black, and I really think this adds a nice contrast. I really love how this piece turned out, and I feel more confident going forward if I decide to take more stained glass classes!
