I’ve mentioned previously how much I love taking one or two day workshops – nothing super intensive or major time consuming but just enough time for me to get obsessive about something new.
I’ve only done stained glass one other time, about six years ago. I loved the end result but I do remember the many, many steps and the bandaids.
My previous piece was completed over a two day, all day workshop. I remember I got frustrated multiple times and received a lot of assistance from the instructor. I tend to be one of the slower workers in workshops or classes – and that’s fine – although it does cause some anxiety. I can definitely empathize with my students who tend to work slower.
Luckily the workshop I took last weekend was for a smaller piece, took place over just one afternoon, and some of the steps started coming back to me.
I was still the last student finished and out the door but that’s ok. I really enjoyed the process and the final result. I would love to create more pieces!
