I started this group of gnomes back in early September and I finally finished them up this past week – early December. Life got extremely busy this fall – my father fell in August and was diagnosed with dementia in September. I have since become his conservator and dealt with too many stressful situations to count. Hopefully things have settled a bit more (fingers crossed) and I can get back to making more art. Working with clay really helps with stress and just makes my heart happy.
I’m so thankful that I’m diligent about keeping my in progress clay projects moist – spraying them with water and keeping them wrapped tight. Because that is what allowed me to work with these pieces over such a long period of time.
I think they turned out great – no problems with glazing, firing, etc – a win, win!
