
I love making pitchers because it’s a challenge at almost every step of the process. I pretty much hold my breathe until the piece comes out of the glaze fire.
This piece had a longer template then previous pitchers, so the piece ended up being taller, which I found tricky to work when it was wet/greenware but love the final result.
Since I was using white clay, I thought it would be fun to use commercial black underglaze transfers to decorate. I came across these cat images from Elan Transfers and I had to have them! I love how the piece turned out – it makes me smile whenever I glance over at it in our living room. <3
