Cup & Bowl Workshop

  • Cup & Bowl Workshop

These pieces are from a workshop I took back in early April. I normally love taking all the workshops – great time to learn new techniques – but this one left me frustrated. It was a super short time frame and the instructor utilized techniques that honestly went against my experiences and aesthetics with clay. I knew from my experience as an instructor that we were being rushed and I would have personally preferred to have spent more time creating one nice looking piece rather than rushing through two. Overall though, I’m happy with how the finished glazed pieces look. I HAD to add a handle to the cup (even though we were asked not to ;)). A bit cheeky on my part. I’m also pretty impulsive, so maybe the universe is telling me to slow down and not take every single workshop I see posted. I’m now in a six week hand building course, making what I like – probably a good idea for the moment.
